Role: | Nicko McBrain |
Luca Romanò, born in '76, began playing the drums at the age of 17 as a self-taught player.
A metalhead by origin, his first metal listen was the mythological "Somewhere in Time".
He vents his immature primordial instincts behind the skins with high school thrash cover bands, arriving (why not?) at psychedelic noise with his first band of unreleased songs "Tamburo di Latta" (2 self-produced demos).
After a dutiful foray into the territories of extreme prog metal with the band Symmetry (demo “Through the Eye of Symmetry”, 2003), he landed for a long period on the warm shores of southern/stoner rock with Bones and Comfort, with whom he published a album with Go Down Records (Mothersheep, 2012).
But metal calls - and the answer comes when, together with the mighty Ivan (aka Evan Russel) and the mighty Tony De Padua, he begins the adventure of The Ides of March in 2018.
His inspirations? It's impossible to list them all, but we certainly include Lars Ulrich, Nick Menza, Mike Portnoy, Mark Zonder (Fates Warning), John Macaluso (Ark), Terry Bozzio...
